the carlsons

Being pregnant warrants lots of sitting breaks and this husband delivered. Hauling in a heavy, vintage chair is no easy feat….

I loved capturing this soon-to-be family of five behind the lens. There was so much story to tell. The bond that grew over the years between master and dog. The transformation of a woman’s body as a tiny individual forms inside her. The sincere wonder and fascination of a child as she examines nature’s simple offerings. A vintage chair, purchased at a garage sale years ago, which now holds a place in this family’s home and has went on to witness a family grow. The musicality of the father as he strummed his guitar. It was truly unique.

One particular story worth expanding on further was this father’s musical talents. Although having little exposure to instruments as a child, he went on to teach himself how to play multiple music instruments. Now, he is self-employed composing and pitching background music for commercial and television producers . I was able to personally witness his musical talent in the photo session when he broke out in song about something to do with a kitty-cat. It not only captured his daughter’s attention but also mine. Perhaps he should consider creating and recording children’s music as I seriously considered recording this song for my own children’s listening pleasure. Individual talents never cease to amaze me.

Thank you for trusting me to tell your story guys!
